Associated with the Galeries Lafayette group and present in Portugal, in Leiria, we are looking for a Data Tech Lead.

Your future job : We are seeking an experienced Data Tech Lead to lead and mentor our team of talented Data Engineers. As a Data Tech Lead at La Redoute, you will play a pivotal role in our data strategy and be responsible for leading a team of Data Engineers. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define data engineering goals, design robust data solutions, and ensure the successful execution of data projects.

**MAIN RESPONSABILITIES Team leadership

  • Lead and mentor a team of Data Engineers, providing technical guidance and coaching to foster professional growth.
  • Set clear goals, priorities, and expectations for the team to deliver high-quality data solutions on time and within scope.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.

Project Planning and Execution

  • Collaborate with stakeholders (mostly Data Architects, business owners, and Project Managers) to define data engineering project requirements and objectives.
  • Create and manage project plans, ensuring efficient resource allocation and project delivery. o Oversee the development and deployment of data pipelines, ensuring they meet performance, scalability, and reliability standards.

Technical Expertise

  • Stay up to date with the latest data engineering technologies and best practices.
  • Provide technical leadership in data architecture design, database optimization, and data integration strategies.
  • Review and guide the team in solving complex technical challenges.

Quality Assurance and Documentation

  • Implement and maintain data engineering best practices, quality assurance processes, and documentation standards. o Ensure that data solutions adhere to data governance, security, and compliance requirements.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Collaborate with Data Architects, Data Engineers, and other cross-functional teams to understand and address their data needs.
  • Communicate progress, project status, and potential issues to senior management and stakeholders.

  • Organized and demonstrate the ability to stay organized.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand quickly business and technical requirements of a data pipeline that needs to be developed, and challenge potential misconceptions.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage stress in an fast-moving environment.
  • Demonstrated clear communication in a fast-moving development environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to write and speak fluent English in a working environment.
  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or Science.
  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer, or related, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Previous experience with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership or managerial role, with a demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team.
  • Proficiency in data engineering good practices such as: o Versioning o Data Architecture o Quality Assurance o Overall ability to dive through IT systems o Overall ability to delineate the business added value of a data project
  • Proficiency in data engineering technologies and tools such as: Apache Airflow, Apache Spark, Apache Beam, Google Big Query, Terraform, Kafka and Pub/Sub
  • Strong knowledge of data warehousing / data lakes, ETL processes, and data integration methodologies
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to design and implement scalable and reliable data solutions. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, Azure, AWS).
