Position Description : We are looking for talented people to integrate our IT Modernization Global Competency Center. This center is based in Sintra, Portugal, but our projects require us to travel frequently to our clients’ locations, in mainframe modernization projects taking place in the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Canada and other geographies. Good English and Portuguese language skills are a must but all other languages, in particular French, will be valued. We are seeking to hire 1 Assistant to our Project Managers. In this role, you would be responsible to cooperate in the elaboration of project budgets, control progress and deliveries, timeframes and customer satisfaction, enabling new and extension business. You will ensure resourcing is achieved and performance reviews are completed for people assigned to your projects as well as managing client relationship.

Your future duties and responsibilities :

  • You will be integrated into our global team of modernization experts, and learn to use our tools in practical settings, understanding code and data structures, upgrading the existing tools and developing new ones, jointly working to modernize our clients’ legacy systems, delivering valuable, flexible, stable and modernized systems.
  • As an assistant to the Project Managers of our team, you will be working on several large projects within our clients’ businesses. This role will require communication and interaction with multiple internal and external clients to ensure that each module interacts properly with each other.
  • Your responsibilities will include:
  • Development of project proposals, project charters, and project management plans
  • Managing the time and effort of the project team
  • Ensuring proper change, scope, risk, and expectation management are applied
  • Reporting accurate project financial and profitability figures
  • Holding regular status meeting with team and clients and providing regular status reporting
  • Learn to play a lead role in the development of business requirements documentation
  • Assist the preparation of presentations to senior client executives

Required qualifications to be successful in this role :

  • Essential Qualifications- Some knowledge of Project Management
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills and well-developed written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Must be goal oriented, results driven, and client focused
  • Undergraduate degree such as Business, Engineering, or Computer Science or equivalent

Desired Qualifications- Project Management training and certification (PMP)

  • Change Management training and certification
  • Willingness to travel and work abroad for short periods of time

Professional Attributes- Results-oriented with a strong track record of successful delivery

  • Participate and network externally in industry forums to share best practices and gain competitive intelligence

Education and Certification- Bachelor’s degree with a focus on Information Technology/Communications, or equivalent
