Energy Market Analyst - Professional Internship

Mission The goal of the Market Intelligence, Structuring & Analytics team is to enable a data-driven and objective decision-making process. To do so, Galp needs to build from scratch several analytical and market intelligence tools that automatically download the required inputs, process it in an auditable way (no black boxes) and show results that are easy to understand and process. Developing such tools involves a solid knowledge of Galp’s day to day business, attention to detail, ability to think in a strategic way and persistency to navigate throughout all available information.

What you'll do

  • Help the team build and maintain the analytical and market intelligence tools identified as top priority for 2024:

  • Identify main data sources;

  • Establish automated protocols for data download;

  • Design methodologies to validate integrity of the data.

  • Note: "Data" refers to business and also stakeholders. This means that, in order to meet the responsibilities above, you must have a basic understanding of which variables to consider, what are the most reliable sources and how to ensure the data is obtained and processed in the correct way.

What you’ll need

  • Degree in Mathematics, Physics or Engineering field;
  • Nice level of Excel, Power BI & Power Point;
  • Knowledge in energy markets (nice to have);
  • Programming skills;
  • Good level of English (mandatory) and Spanish (nice to have).
