Senior Scrum Master | Financial Risk & Compliance

The financial system is facing serious challenges. Banks and payment service providers are struggling to meet the requirements of regulators, and the current Know Your Customer & Anti-Money Laundering solutions are falling short of needs. At the root of financial crime are felonies involving drugs, human trafficking, and terrorism.

But there’s hope! AI and machine learning offer the promise to catch criminals effectively. The Financial Risk and Compliance (FRC) team at Sentinels AI is building cutting-edge AI software products to help financial institutions meet pressing regulatory requirements, reduce false positives, maximise their customer experience, and fight financial crime.

As a scrum master, you understand the importance of working with Agile. You’re also able to put this into practice from your Agile mindset. Basically, you’re the oil that keeps the engine running smoothly!

You are a highly organised, thorough and motivated professional that understands the importance of being a strong team player and leader.

We don’t have to mention anything Agile, as you are living & breathing it, and bring the experience to prove it.

You are used to delivering software in a multi-disciplinary team, in a multi-location product organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Train, coach, and mentor teams on agile principles, frameworks and tools to become high-performing and organising autonomously
  • Organise and facilitate team events, aiming at growing team capabilities to do it
  • Monitor & track WIP to identify, communicate, and remove agility blockers/impediments within and across teams.
  • Help the team improve efficiency through Continuous Improvement to achieve continuous, predictable, and stable delivery
  • Provide advice as transition consultant and agile coach
  • Coach, challenge and inspire all levels within our organisation

Requirements :

  • Start-up mindset with deep knowledge and Agile experience (5+ years) - preferably from larger organisations
  • At least 5 years of experience with building organising and high-performing Scrum teams
  • At least 2 years of experience in a scaled Agile environment (SAFe, LeSS, etc.)
  • Passionate about empiricism to help the team improve by learning through experimentation and observation
  • Solid experience delivering software in a multi-team, multi-location product organisation
  • Solid experience in building Scrum metrics to keep the team on track
  • Servant Leader in the proper context (firm if needed, relaxed whenever possible)
  • Strong ability to cut through complexity and provide clear recommendations/improvements
  • Able to proactively recognise and identify bottlenecks pertaining to the process
  • Technical background
  • Fluent English in word and writing
  • Certified Scrum Master

Nice to have

  • Certified in Scaled Agile Framework (e.g. Safe, LeSS)
  • Knowledge and experience with Lean is preferred
