About the role

We are thrilled to announce that we are looking for a Superintendent Maintenance to join our site in Aljustrel. Our site in Aljustrel produces a range of explosive chemicals and detonators distributed to Mining, Quarry, and Infrastructure sites across Europe, supporting blasting processes for various projects.

As a Superintendent Maintenance you will provide functional leadership of maintenance management planning and execution (including strategic maintenance, reliability engineering, spares management, & systems) across the site, providing fit for purpose equipment & lowest total ownership cost to Orica throughout their lifecycle whilst improving overall availability, developing and deliver work plans and schedules that optimizes efficient maintenance execution and plant uptime to support the Product Line on achieving their objectives across Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost

What you will be doing

  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental procedures by all team members.
  • Execute the maintenance plan, scheduling maintenance work and ensuring that equipment is in safe condition. Also responsible for responding to any shutdowns that may occur.
  • Present and develop a continuous improvement project in the execution of maintenance.
  • Ensure that the work performed meets quality, safety, environmental, and engineering standards.
  • Budget management for the maintenance of the product line and support for the annual budget.
  • Conduct inspections and provide reports on these inspections.
  • Team management, including: training and development, performance evaluation, compensation, and recognition.

What you will bring

  • Degree qualified Engineer (Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic) with minimum 10 years’ experience and 5 years in management position.
  • Excellent people management and communications skills at high and low levels
  • Strong leadership and coaching abilities
  • Ability to plan, execute and Influence.
  • High-level decision-making ability
  • Strong Technical understanding of products and processes.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
